“To have courage for whatever comes in life—everything lies in that.”
—Mary Oliver
Dear companions,
Last week’s podcast, “On Difficult Conversations,” developed from conversations in my life, reminded me of this: to meet another fully, is to touch the eternal potential of another. I spoke of holding space for discomfort, of asking, “What’s alive in you?” without rushing to fix or judge, to listen genuinely. This, I’ve learned through 30 years of integrative physiotherapy practices, where the root of healing begins.
My philosophy, woven from Krishnamurti’s fearless inquiry, the Tao’s effortless flow in the unspoken Way, and the quantum dance of entanglement in non separation, is a call to live awake.
A near-death experience showed me life’s illusory veil—both fleeting and whole, like a ripple in John O’Donohue’s “eternal now.”
Traditional Chinese Medicine practices, with its meridians mapping the body’s rivers of Qi flow, teaches balance; somatic arts, inspired by Peter Levine, and my Craniosacral, Deep Bodywork and Gestalt practices release trauma’s held breath; and quantum healing, a nod to entanglement, reminds me we’re never separate.
Gabor Maté’s foundational work on trauma and our unmooring from our authentic selves in need of safety and My Chinese ancestry grounds me in this: healing is not mending, but remembering.
“The beauty of the earth is the first beauty… it is the circle of our belonging.”
—John O’Donohue
In the podcast I explored difficult conversations as portals to belonging. When we pause, as I’ve done in my clinical practice and listen with the body’s quiet intelligence, we dissolve fear’s conditioning.
This is my practice—whether guiding a client through somatic release or writing these words. It’s the courage Mary Oliver speaks of, to meet life’s raw edges with curiosity and love.
Where I’m Heading
I’m called to be in deep conversation with other healers in the somatic and quantum arts. My Substack, Conversations on This One Life, and At the Heart of a Wise Practice is my offering—a space to explore healing, awakening, and the human condition. Here’s how I’ll serve:
Writing as Medicine: I’ll share essays on TCM’s flow, quantum healing’s unity, and somatic presence, infused with poets like David Whyte, whose words cut to the bone. Paid subscribers will receive practices—somatic meditations, meridian exercises—to embody these truths.
Facilitating Healers and Healing-ship: Foster mentorship for a few practitioners, teaching how to listen with the body, hold space for trauma, and weave TCM with somatic arts in particular to rehabilitation.
Continued crafting courses/content on healing through Somatics, one’s narration of their Lifehood and presence-based practices, distilling 30 years of practice. My first, in this meditation offering here “Somatic Presence for Wholeness,” blends Levine’s insights with TCM’s balance, launching soon.
A Life of Freedom
“What you can plan is too small for you to live.”
—David Whyte
My path is freedom with my time and full use of my energies as I see fit.
