Terry,

I listened twice to your beautiful essay. I shed a tear hearing Candace's message. I realize how special it is that our children share our rich heritage through their grandmothers (our mothers California and Mary Lou ). And their grandfathers too Kenneth and Phillip. My children soon will be 30 years and 27 and yours 28 and 31 years..Pretty cool to have (Tom) cousins 27, 28, 30 and 31! Yes, we don't need a special Hallmark Mothers and Father's Day but the best part it does makes us stop and think about our parents and ourselves as parents.

Love your cousin, Monica

Thank you Cousin Monica for taking the time and follow along and your words here. We share a common thread in life with our kids, bay area'ns, kind, respectful kids. Our blood of ancestry rooted in our grandparents. It is a gift...

Thank you Terry for that beautiful message to fathers everywhere. As you pondered on your own father, I too thought of my father - an imperfect man that was doing the best that he could. Your reflection runs deep and gentle. xie xie

Thank you my bruddha! The layer of culture, isn't it interesting born of two worlds and needing to find identity when a world would not want you just because of how one looked or conversed in ways unfamiliar, scary to think that as humans we continue not to have evolved to understand that we are indeed one consciousness, one self...It hurts to hurt others...Our parents knew this quite well and yet in spite of it all continued to prosper in their own unique ways...or we would not be here!
